friday november 21. day six.
i didn't have an electrical outlet near me this time around so i wasn't able to use my computer at all on the train. we climbed a mountain and came down from it within the same afternoon and i got into salem around 4pm. marc's sis and her kids picked me up from the station. everyone was wearing knit hats and parkas. i felt dirty from not brushing my teeth yet and shocked from realizing it was going to be this cold. i was still dressed in the crabby hipster garbage i wore to the gallery. hardly any fabric at all.
we took the kids to a gym and watched them run around. bad weather. is it always this way? cold. wet. yuk. she took me to eat at big town hero's and i ordered the avocado cream cheese hoagie. sat around antsy to do something besides waiting in front of a fireplace. i was still in rye's san fran state of mind. met up with marc a few hours later with a field of hope for this part of my travels. we went back to his parents' house at the edge of salem and stayed up late talking to his parents. cordial. polite. slow.
took a shower and went to bed already sick of the best behavior business.
