travel day two. part 1.

stupid train. they blasted the damn air conditioning all night presumably because americans were riding the train. americans are fat. fatties sweat like crazy. i didn't bring a blanket, pillow or jacket so i had frozen bones all night. the pillows, i.e. four cotton balls packed in a sock, were free but blankets cost $$$15! whatever, i just grouched it out. so the frigid environment combined with the screaming infant assholes behind me meant i would wake up every 45 minutes. damn damn! i should have brought my flask.

creepy guy came back but i had my sunglasses on so i figured he would get the picture. he tapped on my shoulder. "am i too close to you?" "is my body pillow touching you?" "let me know if i get too close!" yeah. you're about fifty feet too close. like. barf. BARF! BARF TIMES INFINITY. and PLEASE. stop calling me 'sunshine'. i already know i'm a sunshine. just not to you, creepy guy. i'm going to ask him if he's ever killed anyone. you know, i think he means well, like this is him flirting in a weird way so i feel sorry for him. he's acting super happy and outgoing so it makes me suspicious. it makes me miss tim. really miss t. dry dry conversations with tim. i'm going to imagine being tim when creep talks to me.

didn't work. he fake slapped me so i told him to lay off. thank god, L.A. is 15 minutes away.

arrived at union station and scurried to the bathroom so i could change my clothes and clean up. trains don't give you that sick kid smell that planes give you. cool huh. still in a shitty mood because of the weirdo, i decided to walk around the station.

my layover was about an hour and a half so i sat there rehydrating myself and making a hippie love tracklist for san francisco. you'd be surprised how much nick drake i put on it.

when i called my parents to tell them how i was doing, i accidentally mentioned the creep from the train and then they got all panick attack-y about me being raped, tortured and killed in california. no offense pops but i'd be more worried about me in albuquerque. the train station was grand. very cool.

got on train 14 and prepared to be blown away at the scenic journey. everyone told me it was going to be a big deal. and i was getting chilly willies just thinking about it.
