Here are the underwater photos using a nikon coolpix digi cam inside of a plastic zip top bag. It was the kind of digi cam where the lens and all the technical stuff are on the inside (like ovaries!) so you can press the bag right against the lens glass. And we tried sucking the air out of the bag, too. I think that helped with clarity. I highly recommend playing with this technique.
The photos came out dreamy, soft and fantastical. Our pool day looks like a foreign film. Here are my favorites:
Tres cool, vrai? There's so much captured movement. It feels like reading a story.
The plastic bag didn't blur the photos too much. Here is what a real photo looks like above water with the plastic bag:
It's not fuzzy nor sharp. It looks like dream memories.
Here are the clearer underwater pictures:
The sun stripes are beautiful, but look at these taken in the shade:
It's haunting, our skin melts into the water.
The water and plastic bag stretched the light and image in some photos:
You can see bubbles and waves and movements.
The small rifts and currents underwater amplified every movement.
I can't wait to try this again.
