hello!
long time fan here. you're especially appreciated today when i'm as sick as a dog and too fatigued to do anything beyond watch television. so thanks gals and guys! i understand your job must be challenging so please let me help out if i may. PLEASE. please, do not use the GOOGLE JOKE anymore. you know, this joke:
mom: (concerned) hon, do you even know anything about your blind date?see? Google serves as a double entendre in that the girl is using the search engine definition of Google and the mom is using the fluffy way to describe a blow job or other sexual act definition.
girl: (cheerful) don't worry, i'll just "Google" him!
mom: (dismayed) oh, honey, that just does not sound appropriate ...
There are many other variations of this joke as i have experienced in the 5 or 6 hours i've been flipping channels today. Perhaps it would behoove me to list the variations so i can further attest my point.
- the octegenarian casually telling the young person to "just Google it" therby ascerting their youthful demeanor.
- the octegenarian (usually clad in inappropriate leather pants) forcefully telling another octegenarian (usually clad in a velour jumpsuit) to "just Google it" as a sign of nonconformity.
- the young person telling a mildly older person to "just Google it" (see example above). and may i say this makes no sense to me as EVERYONE 79 years and younger is aware of the Google search engine.
- the divorcee who intends to use "google" the other way when looking at the bare bottom of a muscled man. i.e. "I would so google that ass to kingdom come." i.e. barf.
- the barely dressed stripper or prostitute, living under a bridge, makes the "Google it" quip and gives a side eye glance. first of all, i don't understand if she is referring to the hand job or the search engine. and second, it's a non sequitur joke for a lady of the evening to make.
- the country bumpkin telling the 80's wall street type to "just Google it" and therefore starting a long string of ironic events in order to bash the 'don't judge a book by its cover' motif.
and my least favorite: - the sassy cat telling the slobbering dog to "just Google it" when she refers to a relatively unknown feline issue. wtf? dogs and cats are wholly uninterested in human affairs. and besides, if the dog doesn't know what feline leukemia is then how would he know what Google is?
the point i'm making should be clear, however rudimentary i make it sound. After all, i'm not the trained writer.
love, G
