short one, i promise!

i helped my dad pick for the harvest festival on sunday. it's a major big deal because we usually just pic every last veggie we have in the gardens.
our dogs were roughhousing. their names are sarah and lil' pup. although i sometimes call the younger one pubby wubby.
i think i got yelled at for taking time watching the dogs instead of shucking corn.
beautiful, right?
i was having a very difficult time shucking because there was a mess of worms within each corn. i would involuntarily throw it nine feet away when i saw a fat grub. yuck. uch. gross.

hey, i've got a special story if made-up words interest you. i misspelled 'involuntarily' back there as 'inviolentary'. as in INVOLUNTARILY combined with VIOLENTLY. so basically i'm just saying that previously i thought freudian slips only occurred by verbal means. additionally, i'm already aware that my elementary knowledge of freudian slips are most likely erroneous.
the air was cold and still on our exposed skin. and we didn't talk. it would have ruined the rhythm of shucking the corn. i was throwing too many ears of corn on the ground so my dad moved me to picking duty. turns out, a corn grub can still find you there too.
we're thinking of turning our little corn garden into the world's smallest maize maze.
it was pitch black when we finished. the chickens ate the left over corn worms.
we had a bad case of stickers this year.
we finished and my dad made us a big warm dinner. we ate while watching star wars and then hurried off to jesse's birthday party. i also had to somehow get in a few hours of sleep before the harvest festival in the morning.
