it was nothing like beck's concert. our better seats made a difference and almost no one stood up except during a couple talking heads songs and the whole encore. the few who were dancing around were escorted by the security guard to a designated dancing area near the stage.
and you know what, i had a problem with the dancers on stage. they were skilled and strong so this is not a critique of their abilities. but i think the choreographed dancing bothered me in the way overly produced mega singers bother me. it becomes less about the music and more about the show. and i guess, since david byrne wasn't wearing a sequined leotard then i'll just view the dancing as a construct of the whole david byrne music vehicle.
also, s's dad can dance dance dance.
