2008 new mexico state fair. it seems like nothing has changed.

was anyone else aware that the gin blossoms performed for FREEEEEEEE at the state fair this year? what?! but we missed it.

the dark cool building which houses the largest squashes and sunflowers is the best break in between eating a fried snicker and watching the hypnotist. it's the most air conditioned building! you know, you wouldn't think that the horsey farmy 4-H exhibits keep you entertained but they really do. each county submits a showcasing of their best features.best this year: san juan county -- see pics below.
worst this year: santa fe county -- how lazy.
somebody created a bleacher full of chile peppers, corn cobs, salt and pepper shakers, etc. it cracked me up.
cool display san juan, you really made me want to visit you.

best wine of the state.
heeeeeeellllppp! a snakey squash.
it was already night when we left the squash building. we got space fries, green chile fries and indian tacos.
lego exhibit.
cool stamp exhibit.
1st place doll house. bof. my doll house is much cuter.

oh yea. also, we saw pablo from the dirty novels sitting in a photobooth with his gf. AGAIN. that had been the third pablo sighting from that weekend. first time was in the autocare aisle at walmart and second was when i was eating otterpops on the sidewalk outside my house. he was riding a beach cruiser.

there's a strict protocol during nighttime midway. you want to stare at the underage girls in pushup bras and four inch heels holding hands with a thirty year old pedo. and by "stare" i mean "glower". but YOU CAN'T. it's just not done. so all you can do is casually glance at her ass hanging out of her shorts. believe me, it just makes you feel worse about life.
marc tried to win me the cutest pink mini guitar for when i start my girl band. so far i've garnered a keyboard and asked my dad if i can trade him my electric guitar for his acoustic guitar. he's still thinking about it. but you know how dads are. they're usually suckers for their daughters.

wow. cool photo. my only regret is not going into the funhouse this year. it's basically the only ride my stomach can handle. plus i get to scare kids who go into it with me.

it was great. i had so much fun. amongst the edgy day crowd i really noticed how families get tense and angry in characteristically happy situations. the state fair is full of rides, junk food and shows but most everyone was sweaty and yelling at each other. marc says it's because the sweaty angry people are over controlling morons who are not in control of their environment there.i was only happy to add to their chaos.
